Procrastination is not always laziness.

Procrastination is not always laziness. Sometimes you are avoiding not the task, but the feeling the task creates. You may fear producing a poor result, feel unsure where to begin, or believe everything must be perfect. Then even a small assignment starts to feel heavy. Instead of attacking yourself, name the emotion. Then make the first step so small that it no longer feels threatening: open the document, write one sentence, or work for five minutes. Once you understand what you are truly avoiding, beginning becomes much easier.
