Not every conversation can end in agreement.
Not every conversation can end in agreement. Sometimes the other person is not trying to understand; they want to win, wound you, or keep you trapped in endless self-defense. Walking away in that moment is not defeat. You can say, “I am willing to continue when we can speak respectfully,” and stop without throwing one final destructive sentence. Your dignity matters more than having the last word in every conflict. Sometimes the strongest response is a calm ending you will not regret tomorrow.
