Grief does not move in a straight line, and it does not obey a calendar.

Grief does not move in a straight line, and it does not obey a calendar. You may feel steadier for weeks, and then a scent, a song, or a random memory can reopen the pain. That does not mean you are back at the beginning or healing incorrectly. Loss simply feels different on different days. Do not rush yourself or compare your path with someone else’s. Healing is not forgetting. It is learning to continue living while keeping a place in your heart for what mattered.
