Children watch not only our successes, but especially what we do after making a mistake.

Children watch not only our successes, but especially what we do after making a mistake. They notice whether we hide, blame someone else, or accept our part. When a parent says, “I was wrong, I am sorry, and I will try to repair it,” a child learns that mistakes are not shameful and relationships can be restored. You do not need to be a perfect parent. It matters more to demonstrate how an imperfect person takes responsibility and tries again.
