A boundary does not become stronger because you explain it again with more words.

A boundary does not become stronger because you explain it again with more words. If it changes whenever someone becomes unhappy, they learn not to respect it, but to wait until you give in. State your need clearly and calmly: “I will not continue this conversation in this way,” or “I am not available at that hour.” Then follow through without punishment or insult. Consistency is not cruelty. It means your no keeps the same meaning even when someone does not like hearing it.
