Asking for help can feel difficult when you believe you should solve everything on your own first.

Asking for help can feel difficult when you believe you should solve everything on your own first. A specific request can make the situation easier for both you and the other person. Instead of saying only “Help me,” explain what you need: someone to listen, an answer to a question, or a task done together. Say how much time it might take. The person may agree or decline; their answer does not measure your worth. A clear request makes the difficulty easier to understand and lets someone decide how they can take part.
