A close look near Nome in Alaska, a fox on a rocky hillside and a snowy scene in northern Sweden. Three photographs reveal the red fox’s pointed ears, thick tail and striking coat against different backgrounds.

A Close Look at a Red Fox in Alaska
These three photographs show red foxes in different settings. The first brings the face and pale chest fur close to the viewer. The second places a fox on a sunlit rocky hillside. The final image shows a red fox standing in snow in Sweden’s Rautas nature reserve. Each frame offers a different balance of animal and landscape.
