A meaningful thought

After conflict, we often focus only on where the other person was wrong. In that way, we can remain correct about the facts and still lose the relationship. Repair begins when each person sees their own part: the tone of voice, the failure to listen, the delayed conversation, or the words that were harsher than necessary. Owning your part does not mean accepting all the blame. It means refusing to wait until the other person becomes perfect first. When someone can say, “This is where I was wrong,” defensiveness decreases and space opens for a real conversation.
