A meaningful thought

When you notice only the final result, a person may begin to believe they have value only when they win. When you also recognize effort, patience, and good choices, you show them what is worth repeating. Instead of only saying, “You are very smart,” it can be more useful to say, “I noticed that you did not give up and tried a different approach.” Specific praise becomes guidance and helps people identify the behaviors that support their growth.
