A meaningful thought

“Thank you for everything” is a beautiful phrase, but sometimes people need to know exactly what you noticed. Say, “Thank you for listening without judging,” “I noticed that you made time for me,” or “That small act made my day easier.” Specific gratitude tells a person that their effort was truly seen. We are often very precise when criticizing and very general when appreciating. Reverse that habit. Naming the good clearly and specifically strengthens the relationships we too easily take for granted.
