A meaningful thought

When you are afraid to decline, you may say yes and then become resentful, delay the task, or complete it with frustration. That kind of agreement helps neither you nor the other person. A clear no may be uncomfortable for a moment, but it prevents long-term bitterness. You can say respectfully, “I cannot do that this time,” “That deadline is not realistic,” or “This is not my priority right now.” A boundary is not cruelty. An honest refusal is often kinder than an agreement that later turns into silence, poor work, or hidden resentment.
